Pinar del Rio

Few other places in Cuba have as much beauty as Pinar del Rio Province. Blessed by it´s nature, it contains two of Cuba´s six world biosphere preserves. The flora and fauna are the main attractions in this province, which is famous for being the land where the best tobacco is grown. The main access to this province is by land, but you can also come by sea.

Havana City

For more than four centuries, Havana, capital of the Republic of Cuba, has been the hub of Cuba´s communications and trade. Now, it is also the administrative, political, cultural and scientific center of the country. Nearly 20 percent of the population lives here in an area of 727 square kilometres or 0.65 percent of the archipelago´s total land area.

Varadero Beach

Varadero Beach which extends for more than 22 kilometers along the Hicacos Peninsula, in Matanzas Province, is the northernmost point in Cuba and it is considered the best sun-and-sand tourist resort in the country. Around 30 percent of the Hicacos Peninsula consists of the Varahicacos Ecological Preserve.

Cayo Largo

Cayo Largo is located at the easternmost tip of the Canarreos Archipelago, south of the western part of Cuba.It has an international airport which can handle planes from Europe and also has flights to and from Havana and excursions to other Cuban resorts such as Varadero, Trinidad, Pinar del Rio, the Isle of Youth, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.

Cienfuegos Province

This city was founded by French families in 1819 and it was laid out in a north-south, east-west grid following the precepts of the neoclassical style. The nationality of its founders explains the ekegance of the the beautifully geometric buildings and architectural harmony of the Pearl of the South. UNESCO declared Cienfuegos City as part of the world heritage in 2006.

Villa Clara Province

Villa Clara offers you beautiful scenery and unique tourist attractions: plains and mountains, settlements dating from colonial times and cities in full industrial development, fishing villages and countless unspoiled areas with enormous natural potential. Santa Clara City features among its monuments, the Ernesto (Che) Guevara Monument where the he and his comrades in the guerrilla struggle in Bolivia are buried.

Trinidad

The "Museum city of Cuba" is a part of the world heritage - as its neighbouring Sugarmill Valley. Well preserved churches, mansions and public squares retain the splendour of its settlement which was founded in 1514. The best place to start exploring Trinidad us the pitoresque Main Square, surrounded by buildings hundreds of years old that are now museums. Many postcards and books about Cuba feature this square.

Jardines del Rey

This archipelago is part of the Sabana-Camaguey Archipelago- more than 2500 islands and islets that extend for 465 kilometers, from the Bay of Nuevitas to the eastern end of the Hicacos Peninsula. Two of these cays in Ciego de Avila Province - Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo- are tourist resorts. The former is a large island square 370 square kilometres in sized linked to the mainland by a stone causeway 17 kilometers long. A long coral reef close to the coast protects this archipelago and features more than 30 excellent diving sites.

Camaguey Province and Santa Lucia Beach

The city of Camaguey was formerly founded in 1515 as Santa Maria del Puerto del Principe. It has delightful public squares, churches and streets. It is one of the most important cities in the country. It´s original nucleus is the largest - covering over 300 hectares - and one of the best preserved in Cuba. Santa Lucia Beach is located on the northern coast of Camaguey Province covering 21 kilometers long and bathed by warm turqouoise water.

Las Tunas Province

The city of Las Tunas is also known as the "Sculpture capital of Cuba". It hosts the Iberian-American Festival of Ten-Line Country Verses and traditional Meetings on El Cucalambe. The provinces coasts contain more than 30 pristine beaches and there are several places that played an important role in Cuba´s War of Independence in 1880´s.

Holguin Province

Holguin City is known as the "City of Parks" in Cuba. It is the capital of the province with the same name. It is a very hospitable city. It´s attractions include the lookout point on the Hill of the Cross which participants climb in pilmgrimage as part of the May Festivals. Guardalavaca, Esmeralda, Pesquero and Don Lino beaches are becoming ever more popular. They are located in a 18 km strip on the northern coast of the province.

Granma Province

This province is famous for the beauty of its mountains, marine terraces, beaches of dark golden sand (such as Marea del Portillo) and several national parks. It´s capital, Bayamo, was the second Spanish settlement in Cuba, founded in 1513 at a place where was a large Indian population. It served as capital of the Republic in Arms during the Ten Years´ War (1868-1878).

Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba is the second largest city in Cuba and also in importance. It was founded in 1515 and served as capital of Cuba for a short time before all the collapse of trades with the Minor Antilles, letting room for Havana to become the capital of the country. Santiago is the warmest and most hospitable of the cities in the country and considered as the Capital of the Caribbean. It has a reach history and fertile cultural development, especially in the sphere of music.

Baracoa

Baracoa was the first Spanish settlement in Cuba, founded on a bank of the Manicaragua river in 1512. It is a unique town with many customs where every day can be different and awaken your senses. It´s museum contains the Parra Cross, the only one remaining of the 29 crosses that Christopher Colombus brought to the new world.
